A mother with the initials HT (68) beaten his son, E (43), uses a plastic chair because he takes his fried goods. The mother and child then mediated at the Metro Police South Jakarta.
During the mediation, both parties agreed to settle the matter. The mother forgave her son and withdrew the report.
“In the process of handling us, the family members are taking the peaceful route because the reported party has also apologized directly,” Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Irwandhy, told reporters, Thursday (16/2/2023).
Irwandhy said the two were mediated by SS, who is the younger brother of HT. During the mediation, E apologized directly to his mother.
“So the person concerned has also apologized directly to his mother and was mediated by his sibling SS,” he added.
Irwandhy hopes that this case will serve as a lesson for E. Whatever the reason, it is not permissible for a child to commit violence against parents who have raised their own children.
“What we need to convey in this case is that whatever the reason is, the motive concerned is to beat his mother, we cannot repay the services of a mother,” he said.
Mother Forgives
On that occasion, HT said he sincerely forgave his son’s actions. He then retracted the report.
“I have forgiven my son, I really hope that his heart is no longer like mine. I am grateful that he has apologized to me, so I have withdrawn my report,” said HT.
Previously, a mother with the initials HT (68) cried at the South Jakarta Police. He admitted that his son, E (43), was beaten at the Lebak Bulus Terminal, South Jakarta, because he took fried food.
HT said the incident occurred on Tuesday (14/2/2023) night. At that time, HT came to his son’s stall and took fried food for breakfast.
“So at 9 pm I sat at the shop to get fried foods, wanted to go home, make breakfast, I mean. Then he got angry,” HT told reporters at the South Jakarta Police Integrated Service Center (SPKT), Wednesday (15/2) .
“I took 1 fried banana, tofu 2. He said ‘don’t eat too much of it take‘,” he added.
He added that he and his son had quarreled. After that, HT admitted that his son had hit him using a chair.
“I said ‘these are 4 fried pieces, you guys are angry. You never gave rice, so I’m here to hitch a ride with you. All of you, right? it’s school‘. He was angry, then take 2 plastic chairs were then crushed on me,” he said.
“He lifted the chair, ‘get out of you… get out of you’. Slammed the chair until it shattered (into my body). Until it all hurt,” he continued, sobbing.
