NEW YORK — A woman and her two children were the victims of an alleged hammer attack Wednesday afternoon in Brooklyn, police sources told our sister network NBC 4.
The unidentified woman and the two children, possibly between 4 and 5 years old, were allegedly attacked by a neighbor after a fight, sources with knowledge of the case added. The attack occurred at 531 52nd St. in the Sunset Park section.
The neighbor, who would be a 43-year-old Asian woman and also a mother, hit them with the hammer, the source said.
The victims were transported to Lutheran Hospital, two in critical condition and one in serious condition, according to the Fire Department, (FDNY). Agents were able to recover a hammer at the scene.
According to the NYPD, one person was in custody. It is possible that the victims knew him, according to police sources.
