Junior sergeants Victoria and Maxim are mother and son who serve in the 14th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Roman the Great.
This was reported in the press service of the brigade.
Victoria dreamed of serving in the army for 15 years, but managed to fulfill her wish only four years ago.
“It is important for me to feel part of something big and important in Ukraine and around the world. Of course, it is not easy, but moving forward always gives strength,” says Victoria.
By her example, she taught her son important things more than once in her life. So that the son loved books from childhood, they read in turn. Mother – five pages and two – son. She never raised her voice at her son, on the contrary, she tried to educate him with kind words.
“There was a case when my son’s classmates got into a conversation about who is called at home during a quarrel. The boys talk, but my Maxim is silent. They ask him, and he says: they don’t quarrel with me, they love me! This is very important, especially in our time: to feel the child, his mood, desires and aspirations. And just support,” says the servicewoman.
Half a year after Victoria went to serve in the princely brigade, Maxim also joined her ranks. He says that he really wanted the service to be such that everything was clear and understandable.
During the district hostilities, mother and son do not often have to meet, despite the fact that they serve in the same brigade. But short meetings powerfully recharge both of them and give them strength to fight on.
Today, Mother’s Day in Ukraine is tinged with pain and grief. We have hundreds of thousands of mothers whose children are at the front. What a mother feels and experiences in such hours-days-years is hard to imagine… But we know that the power of motherly love saves and helps thousands of kilometers away! Thank you, mom! For life, for love, for support and strength!
