FRÝDEK-MÍSTEK – A walk with a one-year-old boy in a stroller ended in a huge drama. A thirty-year-old woman suddenly lost consciousness and the child fell out of the stroller directly into the stream. Air rescuers also had to intervene, sending a helicopter to the scene.
The case happened on Tuesday in one of the municipalities in the Czech district of Frýdecko-Místecko. When the young mother woke up from unconsciousness, she found that the child was lying in the stream with considerable hypothermia. With the last of her strength and in desperation, she called for help, because the child’s life was already in danger at that moment. “The regional operations center received an emergency call at 3:30 in the afternoon and immediately sent a medical crew, including an air ambulance helicopter, to help”said the spokesman for rescuers for Frýdecko-Místecký daily.

“The child’s breathing was insufficient. Paramedics immediately began treatment, including securing access to the bone marrow to administer medication. They provided the child with oxygen and ensured thermal comfort”. specified the spokesman of the Moravian-Silesian rescuers, Lukáš Humpl.
According to available information, the young mother was unconscious for about half an hour, but in such a short time her son was in a life-threatening condition. The boy and his mother were transported by helicopter to the Ostrava University Hospital, where they were provided with medical care and the necessary medicines.
