Mother and Child Bitten by Crocodile While Washing Clothes in North Sumatra

A mother named Raminten (38) and her child Kaisyah (9) in North Labuhanbatu District (Labura), North Sumatra (North Sumatra) were bitten by a crocodile. The incident occurred when the two of them were washing clothes in the river.

Reported detikSumatraFriday (19/5/2023), the unfortunate incident occurred in Tubiran Village, Merbau District, Labura Regency, on Thursday (18/5) morning around 08.00 WIB.

“Yes, this morning at 8 o’clock, in Tubiran Village, Merbau District,” said the Head of the Merbau Police, AKP Jhony Pasaribu, when confirmed by detikSumat, Thursday (18/5).



Jhony said that at the time of the incident, Raminten was washing clothes in the river in the area. While his son was taking a bath about 1 meter from where his mother was washing.

However, suddenly Raminten’s child screamed because his leg was bitten by a crocodile. In fact, Raminten’s child was dragged by the crocodile for about 10 meters.

“So, while washing, the child’s leg was bitten by a crocodile, then the mother helped the child. From the washing place, she was dragged about 10 meters or so,” he explained.
