Friedrichsdorf (fw). A traditional fitness group from the gymnastics and sports community 1890 Köppern is celebrating its 20th anniversary. On March 3, 2004, at 7:30 p.m., the first practice session of the “Mollig & Fit” group from TSG 1890 Köppern started under the direction of Beate Lenhart. The excitement of yesteryear is gone, but the plan to have fun and still exercise in a relaxed, fun and pleasant atmosphere has worked wonderfully over the years. The concept of the fitness group has remained the same to this day, the offering has become more qualified and the name has changed. Adapted to the times, the sports offering is now called “prevention whole body training” and even carries the quality seal “Plus Point Health” from the German Gymnastics Federation (DTB). The “Pluspunkt Gesundheit” is an award for health sports offerings in gymnastics and sports clubs that must meet specified quality criteria. “Pluspunkt Gesundheit” makes it clear to the outside world that this is a high-quality health sport offering.
In the interests of her active participants, the exercise leader Beate Lenhart has undergone continuous training in order to motivate the group and keep them happy week after week with new, interesting exercises. The strategy worked because the majority of fitness participants still belong to the loyal “old” tribe from the very beginning. Everyone agrees that it hasn’t been boring at all so far. The secret recipe of this fitness group, regardless of whether they are young, old, fat or thin, is that all of the currently 19 participants enjoy it every week and are always motivated to look forward to Beate’s varied fitness and exercise offerings. Warming up, strengthening, stabilization, body awareness exercises, low fitness and spinal gymnastics are part of the program. To support success, modern sports equipment such as dumbbells, physiobands, exercise balls, Redondo balls, gymsticks and much more are used regularly in training.
“Sociability in this fitness group is also not neglected. Club means “together instead of alone”, and so social contact and small talk among each other are of course not neglected, much to the chagrin of the trainer. The group’s most well-trained body region is probably the abdominal muscles, because there is nothing healthier than laughter,” laughs Beate Lenhart, who enjoys the fun that everyone in this group has every week. So that the joint sport is not in vain, the annual program is rounded off here and there with culinary excursions and cozy and delicious get-togethers. “Another 20 years would be a dream, but now we’ll continue training for the next ten years,” smiles Lenhart.
!Anyone who feels like “having fun with sport” and would like to have a healthy laugh in a friendly atmosphere with a seal of quality is invited. The fitness group meets on Wednesdays from 6:45 p.m. in the Fritz-Beltz-Halle, Am Farnbach 9, in Friedrichsdorf-Köppern. More information is available from Beate Lenhart (instructor TSG 1860 Köppern) by email to gymnastics[at]tsg-koeppern[dot]of.
