Dec 20 (Reuters) – Major Wall Street indexes began falling on Tuesday after the Bank of Japan surprised global investors with a change in monetary policy that would allow it to raise long-term interest rates faster.
The industrial index fell 22.30 points, or 0.07%, on the open, to 32,735.24 points. The Standard & Poor’s Index also started to fall 7.19 points, or 0.19%, to 3810.47 points, while the Nasdaq Composite started to rise 3.87 points, or 0.04% , at 10,709.29 points.
