As part of the 20th anniversary of market values, Transfermarkt looks at the most valuable players of this season – there were six Munich players in the most valuable Bundesliga eleven.
DFB captain Michael Ballack, who moved from Bayern to Chelsea on a free transfer after the 2006 World Cup, left the Bundesliga as the most valuable footballer. With 35 million euros, he was also one of the elite international midfielders – today that wouldn’t even be enough for the top 30 in German football’s upper house.
