Most templates and opportunities created: Kroos leads rankings

The season of the Toni Kroos is one thing above all: impressive. A number of offensive statistics show that the 31-year-old now shines not only with his consistency, resistance to pressing and security. Real Madrid’s midfield conductor not only rose to be the best template provider for the royal team on Saturday, but also in LaLiga.

Nobody has more than eight assists in the Primera División, with Kroos sharing first place with Iago Aspas and Marcos Llorente. At Los Blancos he last shared this place with Rodrygo Goes, but Kroos is now ahead of Rodrygo and Lucas Vázquez (seven each) with nine assists across all competitions.

But there could be a lot more templates, because: Nobody creates more chances in LaLiga! This number was 59 before the 28th matchday, thanks to the two templates and a key pass, the number has grown to 62. Kroos thus generates more chances than Lionel Messi (56).

Same picture in the Champions League: Real’s number 8 also tops the list of players with the most created chances: 18 in number. His pursuers come from their own team: Lucas Vázquez (16) and Karim Benzema (15).

Thanks to two goals of his own, the former Greifswald player made eleven goals in his 35 appearances (2,660 minutes) – the rate of 241 minutes per scorer point sounds like something that could be improved, but it is obviously not down to Kroos and the chances he created.

“Of course” Kroos is also top in the usual statistics: With 93.5 percent, no regular player in LaLiga brings more passes to the man. With the long balls, however, Kroos (8.7 per patient) is eighth – behind seven goalkeepers. Thanks to most of the chances created, his 2.5 key passes per game mean first place ahead of Messi (2.2).
