The top ten most popular cars used in carsharing and taxis in the capital are mainly South Korean and German cars. This conclusion was reached by Avtotek experts who conducted a corresponding study.
The leader in popularity in car sharing in 2023 was the Nissan Qashqai with a share of 20.0%. Renault Kaptur came in second place with 9.4%. The top three is closed by the Volkswagen Polo – 8.9%.
German manufacturers are represented by four models, which occupy a total share of 22% in the overall rating. In addition to the Volkswagen Polo, the list also includes the Smart Fortwo (4.9%), Audi A3 (4.5%) and BMW 3 Series (3.5%).
In addition, cars from South Korean brands are popular in car sharing. Their total share of presence was 13.3%. Three models made it into the rating: Genesis G70 (5.1%), Kia Rio X-Line (5.0%) and Hyundai Creta (3.2%). The top 10 most popular also included the Czech Skoda Rapid (4.8%).
In the list of cars that are most often used in taxis in Moscow in 2023, the “Korean” Hyundai Solaris is in first place in the overall ranking – its share was 14.3%. The second place goes to Kia Rio (11.9%).
Volkswagen Polo closes the top 3 (8.2%). In fourth place is Skoda Octavia (7.9%). The top 5 is completed by Kia Optima – 5.9%. In addition to the Hyundai Solaris, Kia Rio and Kia Optima, another South Korean model was included in the rating – Kia Ceed (2.5%). The total share of brands from this country in the ranking was 35%.
Also on the list were other foreign cars: the American Ford Focus (3.8%), the Japanese Toyota Camry (3.4%) and the French Renault Logan (2.7%).
