Most Popular Baby Names in the UK: New Trends and Changes Revealed by BabyCentre Survey

“BabyCentre” conducted a survey and found out what are the most popular baby names this year, which new parents have chosen to give their children. This has changed in the top of the most popular names.

According to the study, some of the changes in naming trends could be related to the world of celebrities. Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield, hosts of the popular British TV show This Morning, have fallen out of favor in their country, and this is reflected in the new parents’ choice of children’s names.

Despite the high place in previous years, Holly does not even rank in the first hundred this year, while the name Phil has been registered only once this year.

When it comes to the influence of the royal house, the name Harry has also dropped significantly in the ranking table. Currently, it has fallen by 10 positions in terms of popularity, ranking only in 23rd place. Last year Harry was the 13th most popular boy’s name in the UK. The name Megan (in both possible spellings – Megan and Meghan) has also experienced a drop in registration and is not found in the top 100.
