The reason is the coincidence with Catholic Easter
Tonight an Easter vigil is celebrated, announcing the resurrection of Jesus. Unlike last year, it can now be attended by lay people, but subject to strict security measures.
The coincidence of election day with Easter also excites the Catholic community in the city.
Last year was really a Resurrection of Christ in quarantine, we did it online, it was sad rather than solemn, because as Jesus says, where two or three have gathered and prayed in my name, there I am. Here, the presence of people in the temple is something very good, unfortunately this year the coronavirus is here and the distance is felt, said Father Mladen Plachkov for BNT.
There are 32 polling stations in the Municipality of Rakovski. This year, however, most of the local members of the sectional commissions have refused to participate in the elections due to the coincidence with the holiday and will be replaced by new ones.
