The highest incidence of Covid-19 in Latvia remains in Mārupe and Ķekava counties, according to information compiled by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPC).

The two-week cumulative morbidity in Latvia has increased to 686.2 cases per 100,000 population. In Mārupe municipality, the incidence rate of Covid-19 has increased from 1297.8 to 1459.3 cases in the past day, but in Ķekava municipality it has increased from 1060.6 to 1180.3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, according to the calculations of the agency LETA.
In total, the average morbidity level in the country is exceeded in 14 municipalities and in addition to the mentioned districts it is also higher in Ādaži and Ropaži districts, Rīga, Ventspils, Limbaži, Saulkrasti, Sigulda, Salaspils, Madona, Ogre and Ventspils districts, as well as in Jelgava.
The two-week morbidity rate per 100,000 inhabitants is a theoretical indicator that allows comparisons to be made between areas with different populations and does not indicate a specific morbidity.
Of the 1994 cases of Covid-19 infection detected the previous day, 43% or 867 were registered in Riga. In Daugavpils yesterday 114 new patients were detected, in Mārupe region – 74, in Ogre region – 65, in Ķekava and Ropaži region – in each 57, in Ādaži and Valmiera regions – in each 52, but in a number of other municipalities a smaller number of new patients was registered.
The largest number of patients in the last two weeks is in Riga – 5323, Daugavpils – 492, Mārupe region – 479, Ogre region – 398, Jelgava and Liepāja region – each 379, Ķekava region – 355, Valmiera region – 327, but in Jūrmala and Ropaži region – in each inhabitants.
Of the infections detected the previous day, 404 were between the ages of 30 and 39, 389 between the ages of 20 and 29, and 298 between the ages of ten and 19, but there were fewer cases in other age groups.
The largest number of cases in the last two weeks is between the ages of 30 and 39 – 2,732.
