Suara.com – Copy The Legend of Zelda which is still sealed on the NES, has just been sold for $870,000 or around Rp. 12.65 billion at the Heritage Auctions auction.
This value breaks the previous record for the most expensive game ever sold, held by a copy Super Mario Bros auctioned for 660,000 US dollars or Rp. 9.59 billion.
That price is more than four times the previously known record.
“There are no copies that we have offered of this title before, and are trying to keep it because the variant is very rare because it has early production status,” wrote Heritage Auctions.

The Legend of Zelda is the only copy of one of the earliest productions ever to be offered, and, will probably have the opportunity to offer.
“Given that this variant was only produced a few months in late 1987 before it was finally replaced by the ‘Rev-A’ variant in early 1988, this statement does not seem to surprise collectors,” he added.
Only one other variant that preceded the “NES R” variant was offered and that was the “NESTM” variant, which was the first actual production.
However, it is also widely believed that there is only one instance of the sealed “NES TM”, and no one knows whether or not a copy of that will come to market.
