The cost of living in Tel Aviv is more expensive than Paris, which in 2020 was named the most expensive city in the world.

Tel Aviv in Israel has been named the most expensive city in the world this year, amid rising inflation and supply chain problems that are driving up the cost of living globally.

This conclusion was reached by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) which collected data and compiled a list of the cost of living in more than 170 cities around the world.

For the cheapest city, this title is occupied by Damascus, the capital of Syria, which is only 200 kilometers from Tel Aviv. In the past decade, the city has been ravaged by civil war.

The EIU survey also shows Paris and Singapore are both in second place on the list of the most expensive cities in the world, followed by Zurich and Hong Kong.
