Most corporate computers are not ready for Windows 11, according to a survey

Microsoft released last night final version of Windows 11which it will distribute to supported computers in the coming months through Windows Update. The word “supported” is very important, because due to increased hardware requirements, many computers do not reach the “eleven”. This is confirmed by a recent survey by the analytical company Lansweeper, which focused on computers and servers in companies.

More than half of most computers do not meet the minimum requirements

The analysis was performed on 30 million devices across 60,000 organizations worldwide. The results are quite alarming; Windows 11 cannot be installed on more than half of computers, mainly due to the processor.

Windows 11 can only run on a narrow range of processors in recent years, which was met by only 44.4 percent of devices tested. Most of the tested machines met the minimum requirement for 4 GB of RAM, but 47.45 percent of computers did not meet the requirement for the presence of a TPM chip; 19 percent do not have this component at all, the rest do not have it activated. These are mostly work computers, on virtual machines and servers the problem with the absence of TPM was unique, in the vast majority the function was not activated.

Windows 11 1

We do not yet know what the situation is on the computers of ordinary consumers, but it can be assumed that the number of unsupported devices will be high. Windows 11 will try to gradually force users to buy new devices, which will get, in addition to the new system, also better security options.
