Most Apple Stores in the US will require shoppers and staff to wear face masks again

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to wreak havoc around the world, Apple (and other companies) has had to change tactics in an effort to protect buyers and employees. To that end, the company has made a decision that will go into effect this week and, as it stands, has no end date.

As first reported today by BloombergApple is seeking to re-establish its own mask mandate in its retail stores across the United States. The policy will begin Thursday, July 29, 2021 and will be in effect at most stores in the continental United States. The mask requirement will be present for both buyers and staff.

Apple recently informed retail employees of the change in an internal memo. That’s a relatively minor change, all things considered, given that Apple had already informed employees that they should continue to wear masks for now. But now, masks will be mandatory for buyers who also enter the store.

According to the report, “more than half” of the 270 Apple Stores in the United States will be impacted by the new mask mandate. According to the original story:

After carefully reviewing the latest CDC recommendations and analyzing the health and safety data for your area, we’re updating our advice on face masks for your store, ”Apple told staff. “Starting July 29, face masks will be mandatory in-store for customers and team members, even if they are vaccinated.” The company added that it was making the change “out of prudence.”

Apple also encourages employees to get vaccinated, but isn’t going so far as to make it a requirement in the future (yet):

He also urged retail staff to get vaccinated, but does not require it at this time. “Apple encourages everyone eligible to receive a Covid-19 vaccine to take it,” the company wrote to retail employees. “Please talk to your doctor and decide what is right for you. “

So something to know if your Apple Store is in this new Mask Mandate Net.
