Techno liveMosquito super has evolved to be able to resist insecticideit is a substance normally present in insect venom, according to new research, species known to be carriers of this disease have also developed mutation.

Researchers from Japan’s National Institute of Infectious Diseases studied mosquitoes in endemic areas hemorrhagic fever Of Vietnam and Cambodiafound that they have a mutation that makes mosquitoes highly resistant to common insecticides, according to a study published in Science Advances.

One of the most concerning mutations appeared in about 78 percent of collected samples of Aedes aegypti, one of the best known mosquito species and a major vector of dengue, yellow fever and Zika viruses, according to the study.

The development of pyrethroid resistance often occurs when mutations occur in the Vgsc gene, which codes for the pyrethroid target molecule.

The researchers found 10 new sub-strains of Ae. aegypti and noted that a mutation of Vgsc, called L982W, gave mosquitoes high resistance to the pyrethroid insecticide permethrin in the laboratory.

This mutation occurred at more than 79% frequency in mosquitoes collected from Vietnam, and mosquitoes in Cambodia harbored a combination of L982W and other Vgsc mutations that show “extreme” levels of pyrethroid resistance.
