The Moskvich auto brand plans to produce 50,000 new cars by the end of this year, 10,000 of which will be equipped with electric motors. Dmitry Pronin, General Director of the Moscow Automobile Plant Moskvich, told reporters about this, an Autonews.ru correspondent reports. According to the top manager, in 2024 the company hopes to double this figure.
Pronin recalled that from March 3, it will be possible to purchase Moskvich 3 gasoline crossovers and Moskvich 3e electric crossovers in 23 cities where brand dealers are represented. This number, in addition to Moscow and St. Petersburg, includes Volgograd, Voronezh, Yekaterinburg, Izhevsk, Kazan, Kemerovo, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Orenburg, Perm, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Saratov, Stavropol, Tyumen, Ufa and Chelyabinsk.
At the moment, the production of cars under the revived Moskvich brand is carried out at a plant in Moscow. Moskvich 3 crossovers with a non-alternative 1.5-liter turbo engine with 150 hp are now leaving the assembly line of the former Renault enterprise. The gearbox is a six-speed manual or CVT. Prices for this car start from 1.970 million rubles. The plant also produces an electric one called Moskvich 3e. Such a car is equipped with one electric motor, which is installed on the front axle, with a power of 68 hp. Its price is 3.5 million rubles.
