Moselle-north. Twins are born… 10 km apart, an extremely rare occurrence

Recently domiciled in Metz-Sablon, Victor and his wife Chloé, already parents of Léon, 22 months, are waiting for a happy event. A double happy event even since they are twins. The term of the pregnancy was estimated at July 9. Also, it is with a light heart that the three of them engulf themselves, for Ascension Thursday, in the family car in the direction of Hettange-Grande, at the home of a photographer. It’s about immortalizing on glossy paper this moment of fullness at almost five… and this deliciously round belly. “We arrived on site at 9:30 a.m.,” says Victor, IT project manager in Luxembourg. “But after two hours of shooting, Chloé suddenly changed her look. She had to sit down and she suddenly burst into tears while smiling… I then tried to get her into the car to take her to the nearest hospital but I couldn’t. I didn’t succeed, she was in too much pain”, almost apologizes the husband.

Chloe’s water breaks in front of the vehicle. Return to the photographer’s house and emergency call to the fire brigade. In less time than it takes to tell, around twenty caregivers, including Samu, took over the premises. And at 11:55 am, Jules, 2 kilos on the scale, decides to point the end of his face. “I was even able to cut the cord,” marvels the father. But Jules’ “roommate”, probably still very warm, does not really seem ready to follow in his footsteps.

The doctors on site therefore decided to transfer the mother to the Bel-Air hospital, in Thionville, where Marcel, 2.1 kg, gave his first cries, at 1:17 p.m. precisely. The babies, although placed in incubators for a minimum of two weeks, are doing wonderfully. Just like Chloé, a school teacher, who is not about to forget this improbable experience anytime soon. If the father wishes to warmly thank all those involved for their “tremendous work”, he cannot help but project himself towards the moment when he will have to declare his twins to public bodies, such as the Caf. “With twins who weren’t born in the same place, I’m afraid they’ll think I’m inventing a child to cheat,” he laughs. Congratulations to the parents and wishes of prosperity to Jules and Marcel. Twins who, from their birth, will have marked their singularity.
