Moselle north. Meals offered to students of the IUT of Thionville-Yutz

For the second time, this Wednesday, the students of the IUT Thionville-Yutz received a visit from the woippycienne association Les’Mères’Veilleuses on their campus. Behind this arrival, assistance provided in the form of prepared meals. “And this will continue throughout the month of March, every Wednesday. In case of real need, we can continue in April as well, ”assures Ouarda Kebaili, president of the association.

Thus, a hundred vacuum-packed trays containing vegetable lasagna were distributed to the students with, as a bonus, a dessert and a drink. “These portions were all prepared by the Thionville restaurant Le Beauregard. They wanted, in their own way, to provide support in these times of crisis but did not know which audience to turn to. For our part, we learned that the students of the IUT had a real need since Metz concentrates most of the aid. As we already knew each other, this is how the project was born, ”says the president.

What about the raw material? “The Metro brand in Metz is providing it free of charge. On our side we took care of the coordination and the communication with the IUT, the CROUS and the Bety student office. Moreover, the representatives of the office are also on site. “They take the time to discuss with the students, to identify if there are any needs other than with regard to the meal. In IT or at the financial level, for example. This then makes it possible to go back to the administration while also guaranteeing anonymity. For our part, we identify the requests for meals to be able to possibly increase the number and avoid waste. “
