Moscow’s campaign against Berlin: EU: Russia deliberately spreads false reports – politics

The Brussels diplomats report that the Kremlin’s Germany campaign was intensifying after the January protests in Russia. The trigger was the arrest of Alexei Navalny.

EU diplomats accuse the Kremlin of deliberately spreading false news about Germany. The Russian campaign is supposed to strengthen “Putin understanders”.

Berlin – The Foreign Service of the European Union (EEAS) is sounding the alarm. Under the title “Denigrate Germany, woo Germany”, the Brussels diplomats published excerpts from a report that uses a little diplomatic language on Tuesday. A “systematic campaign against Germany” has been identified, it says. Since 2015, Russian politicians and the media have spread false news in more than 700 cases, the main aim of which was to influence public opinion in the Federal Republic.
