“All this is the bitter consequence of the unresolved situation and the consequences of rising tensions on the dividing line,” said Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He added that any death is a tragedy, but especially the death of a child.
On Saturday, Russian-maintained and armed militant gangs in eastern Ukraine said a projectile from a Ukrainian drone had killed a five-year-old child in its controlled area and seriously injured his grandmother.
However, local media report that the child died in an explosion of a mine buried in the ground.
The village of Oleksandrivska, where the child died, is 14 kilometers from the current front line, but in 2015 there were heavy fighting in the area.
Meanwhile, Russia’s committee of inquiry has already rushed to prosecute a neighboring incident.
On Monday, Moscow once again accused Ukraine of non-compliance with the Minsk agreement.
Commenting on the news of the concentration of Russian troops on the Ukrainian border, Peskov said that the Russian army was moving to the territory where it was deemed necessary.
