MOSCOW / KIEV (Reuters) – The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that it had summoned the Ukrainian charge d’affaires in Moscow to protest against the throwing of a Molotov cocktail at the Russian consulate in Lviv, western China. ‘Ukraine.
The ministry called the incident that targeted its diplomatic representation an “act of terrorism”. The Russian embassy in Kiev officially protested, he added.
Lviv police said they had opened an investigation after what they described as “hooliganism”.
The convocation of the Ukrainian charge d’affaires comes amid heightened tensions between the two countries as Kiev and its Western allies accuse Moscow of massing troops on the Ukrainian border in preparation for an invasion, while the Kremlin says act defensively in the face of fear of Ukraine joining NATO.
