The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the confessions of German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock that Germany is fighting against Russia on the side of Ukraine.
“If you add to this revelation Angela Merkel that they were strengthening Ukraine and did not count on the Minsk agreements, then we are talking about a war planned against Russia in advance. And don’t say later that ”you didn’t hear”, — wrote Maria Zakharova in her telegram channel.
Recall that on January 24, a debate took place in PACE on the provision of Leopard 2 tanks by Berlin for the Kyiv regime. Representative of Norway Ingrid Shue Burbock asked when Germany will finally decide the issue with this provision of tanks for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Burbock replied:
«If we continue this game of pointing the finger at others – because it is more convenient and easier – then Russia and Putin will win. That is why I am not addressing your country, other countries, asking why you did not supply PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts, although the Netherlands and Germany supplied them. It won’t lead to anything. Yes, we must do more for the defense of Ukraine. Yes, we must do more in the matter of tanks. But the main and decisive detail is to do this together, and not to throw accusations in Europe, because we are waging war against Russia, not against each other.
Burbock stressed that the mutual disputes between the EU countries about the supply of weapons to Ukraine will not help Kyiv. Such disputes, says Burbock, only divide Europe.
As a result of the negotiations today, on January 25, the German government announced the shipment of 14 Leopard 2 units to Ukraine. Poland, Finland, the Netherlands, and Denmark announced their readiness to make these deliveries. According to the German media, in total, the Armed Forces of Ukraine should receive two battalions of Leopard 2 tanks from the European Union in the amount of 80 units.
While still a candidate for the German Foreign Minister, Burbock called on Berlin to put the Bundeswehr on alert for a “tough dialogue” with Russia.
