Moscow is ready for negotiations with Kiev on the basis of existing realities – Vershinin

Russia is ready for peace talks with the Ukrainian side on the basis of existing realities and without any preconditions from Kyiv.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with the Zvezda TV channel by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Vershinin. A fragment of his speech is published on February 11 Telegrampublication channel.

The diplomat stressed that in fact, the question of the intentions of the Ukrainian side to negotiate is decided in Washington, and therefore it is necessary to ask the United States about Kyiv’s readiness.

Vershinin also recalled that the Russian-Ukrainian negotiation process had already been, but it was stopped at the initiative of the Kyiv regime.

“There have already been negotiations. You remember Minsk, you remember Istanbul. And do you remember that they were interrupted by the Ukrainian side… but the decisions are not made in Kyiv,” – stated the Deputy Minister.

He also noted that any hostilities eventually end in negotiations, and Russia has repeatedly stated that it will be ready when such a moment comes.

“We have already said that we will be ready for such negotiations. But only to negotiations without preconditions, on the basis of the reality that exists, negotiations taking into account the goals that we have publicly announced,” – said the Deputy Foreign Minister.

At the same time, he acknowledged that the likelihood of starting a negotiation process under the current Washington administration is small. This question depends on the “prudence” and “wisdom” of the President of the United States and his entourage.

As reported EADailyin the same interview, Sergei Vershinin said that all the talk about an international tribunal over Russia is part of the hybrid war that the West unleashed against our country.
