Moscow Introduces Notification Procedure for British Diplomatic Mission Personnel in Response to London’s Hostile Policy

Moscow reacted to London’s hostile policy by introducing a notification procedure for the movement of British diplomatic mission personnel on Russian territory, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, TASS reported.

Earlier in the day, the British chargé d’affaires in Moscow, Tom Dodd, was summoned to the Foreign Office.

“The British side was informed of the decision to introduce a notification procedure for the movement of employees of British diplomatic missions on the territory of our country as a response to London’s hostile actions, including those that impede the normal functioning of Russian foreign institutions in Great Britain,” they said. from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As explained by the Ministry, now accredited officials of the British Embassy in Moscow (except the ambassador and three other senior diplomats) and the Consulate General in Yekaterinburg (except the Consul General) must send a notification at least five working days in advance of travel outside the 120 km free movement zone. “Such a document must contain information on the time, purpose, type of travel, planned business contacts, accompanying persons, type of transport, places of visit and accommodation, as well as the travel route”.

The British chargé d’affaires in Moscow at the Russian Foreign Ministry has been reprimanded for what Moscow says is support for “terrorist actions” in Ukraine and obstruction of Russian diplomacy in Britain, Reuters reported.

Britain is one of the most outspoken supporters of concerted international opposition to what Moscow calls its “special military operation” in Ukraine, and one of the leading Western arms suppliers helping Ukraine defend itself.
