Moscow confirms, arrested and detained Ukrainian journalist





(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 28 – The Russian Ministry of Protection has confirmed that the Ukrainian journalist Viktoria Roshchyna, who disappeared in August 2023, is detained in Russian-occupied territory. This was reported – as reported by the Kyiv Impartial – by the Nationwide Union of Ukrainian Journalists. Affirmation of the detention got here with a letter despatched to the journalist’s father on the finish of April: “Based on accessible data, Roshchyna Viktoria Volodymyrivna… has been arrested and is at the moment within the territory of the Russian Federation”, reads the communication. The Crimson Cross confirmed the arrest and stated it didn’t have entry to her for the time being. Roshchyna disappeared on August 3, 2023 whereas she was reporting in Russian-occupied territory.
