The campaign to fight the so-called Russian spies in Bulgaria has been imposed on Sofia from outside. This was stated today by the spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova, quoted by TASS and BTA.
“I cannot disagree that as far as this is not in the interests of the Bulgarian people, it is most likely behind the promotion of such steps and actions from outside. Because it is impossible to explain something like this with the fundamental, national natural interests of Bulgaria.” she said at a briefing.
Zakharova noted that the recent declaration of two Russian diplomats as persona non grata in Bulgaria is the fifth such case.
