/ world today news/ On Tuesday (July 26) Russia and Turkey discussed the future of the Turkish Stream project, so far there is no decision on the topic, a separate meeting is ahead, Russian Energy Minister Yuri Sentyurin announced after the meeting between the deputy prime ministers of the two countries – Arkady Dvorkovic and Mehmet Simsek, writes “Vzglyad”.
“We discussed the topic, a separate meeting is coming up,” said Centurin, quoted by RIA “Novosti”.
“The Turkish side has confirmed that it is open to the resumption of dialogue on the topic of Turkish Stream.” On Tuesday, the Minister of Energy (Alexander Novak) will hold consultations with his colleagues on this issue,” said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dvorkovich.
On July 9, Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zaybekci stated that the negotiations with Russia on the Turkish Stream gas pipeline project will continue, and the conflict between the two countries has in no way affected the project, Vzglyad recalls.
At the end of June, the Kremlin defined as “premature” the talks about the resumption of “Turkish Stream”. Before that, Gazprom’s spokesperson highly appreciated the readiness of “Turkish Stream” to attract project financing.
On June 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Moscow has not definitively given up on either “Turkish Stream” or “South Stream”, but both projects need the clear position of the European Union, the publication recalls.
