National Basketball Associations (NBA) is the new president of basketball operations at Philadelphia 76ers Derrill Mory acknowledged as one of the leaders of the club Joel Embid.
“I think he has enough potential to one day be one of the best of all time,” Mory said in an interview with NBC10. “Obviously, we’ll have to prove it over time, but to be honest, he has a chance to become one of the best long players in NBA history.”
After Mory became a member of the 76ers team, there were rumors that he wanted to attract the Houston Rockets, James Harden, with whom they both basically built the current Rockets lineup and style of play.
“Now that we have two important figures – Embyd and Ben Simons – I imagine we’ll see fewer players change,” said Mory, who to some extent dispelled rumors that one of the two players might be replaced by Harden.
Mory previously worked for Rockets, where he served as general manager. The 76ers, on the other hand, withdrew from the play-offs in the first round last season. The team could not be helped by Simons, who was injured, but with players such as Embyd, Tobias Harris and Al Horford, they were still shamefully defeated by the Boston Celtics 0-4.
