Mortdog explains the hits and misses of TFT Patch 10.16

Patch 10.16 TFT introduced a few new tier S comps. We also had quite a few cool changes, and Riot Games’ head of battler car design, Mortdog, has explained how the 10.16 changes have affected the TFT metagame.

The Statikk, an important item in TFT patch 10.16 for Mortdog

For Mortdog, the fact that Junk World has reached this point in set 3 has been good. Also, the new item mixing guide will be key for the next set. With regard to objects, the Hand of Justice has become a good item thanks to its buff, while the rest of the objects that have received an improvement have not been seen much.

Runaan’s Hurricane and Swordbreaker will receive changes in Set 4. Additionally, the upgrade to Stattik has turned it into an object excellent in early and useful in late. Crono is still unplayable solo in the competitive metagame, and the changes to Mana Reapers have been positive.

The Vanguard adjustment has been a placebo, while he nerf Mechapilotos has been of little use. The giant robot is still the protagonist in the current meta, so it could receive more changes in 10.17.

Despite the 3-cost champion buffs, the meta has not become the “party of hyperroll«. Fiora is still not a dominant champion, although her buffs have helped Cybernetics and Swordsmen comps.

Bardo is still doing well, although many players don’t see him as a viable option. Despite not being unplayable, Jinx is the least used 4 cost champion. Gangplank has gone from being cost 5 least chosen to being the most chosen, so will be nerfed on 10.17.

For now, we will have to see what happens in patch 10.17, because in theory it will be a “small patch”.
