Mortada Mansour, President of Zamalek, confirmed that he wanted to slow down before hiring the new technical director so that he could agree with a coach who would continue with the team, after the departure of the French Patrice Carteron, the current coach of the Taawon Club, after he paid the value of the penalty clause in his contract.
Mortada said, in televised statements, on the Zamalek channel: “They are committed to the new coach that we negotiated with, Zamalek needs him and is waiting for his response, and I say to the fans, do not worry, he will be a world coach and fit the name and history of the club, and to the dustbin of history for the fugitive Carteron.”
And he continued: “If the story was over two months, as Gros asked, we would have contracted with him, but we want a coach who will continue with us.”
He continued: “The coach agrees to train Zamalek, but he will meet with the assistants and the trainer and will give us his response tomorrow, and there is more than one reserve for the coach, and they are not less than the first in anything.”
And he added: “Reassure the fans of Zamalek, we work 24 hours and do not sleep, and there is an operations room in order to finalize the contract with a technical director fit for Zamalek.”
He stressed: “I do not think that Tariq Yahya will be coach of Zamalek next Saturday, and if we agree tomorrow with the coach, he will come tomorrow to Egypt, and the alternative names are no less important than the first coach.”
He concluded: “Mahmoud Al-Khatib lost all the championships and won only the league, and took the best club president in Egypt, and I agree with that (me and my brother Mahmoud are one).”
