Mortada Mansour Announces Permanent Departure from Zamalek Club Following Court Decision

Mortada Mansour officially announced his departure from Zamalek Club, nearly a month after the decision of the Supreme Administrative Court in Egypt, upholding the decision to remove him and remove his capacity as president of the club.
Mortada Mansour said in a video he posted on his official page on the social networking site “Facebook”: “I announce my departure from Zamalek club permanently, and I will leave the country after the Zamalek match against Al-Nasr Saudi Arabia.”
Mansour directed the conversation to the former president of Zamalek club, Mamdouh Abbas, saying: “I hope that the seizure will be lifted from the bank accounts of the Zamalek club. I will leave the country, and I will move away from the scene permanently, and Amir Mortada also left two months ago from Zamalek.”
He added, “I did not waive a single dollar from Mahmoud Kahraba’s punishment, as was reported,” referring in his speech to the upcoming elections for Zamalek, for which the door for candidacy will be opened on October 31, by saying: “Whoever wants to run and his heart is on the club, submits his papers on time.” Specifically, the battle ended with my departure from Zamalek club.
It is noteworthy that the Supreme Administrative Court in Egypt decided, last July, to support the dismissal and removal of Mortada Mansour from the presidency of the Zamalek club, and the court rejected the appeals submitted against the previous administrative judicial ruling, whether the appeal submitted by Mortada, or the appeal submitted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, after it was obligatory. The administrative judiciary, a few months before that, the Egyptian Minister of Sports, Ashraf Sobhi, announced the demise of Mortada Mansour’s capacity from the club, and called for elections to be held for the vacant position in the first general assembly.
The verdict came against Mortada Mansour, after he was convicted by a ruling by the Court of Cassation last February, against the background of insulting and slandering the president of the Egyptian Al-Ahly club, Mahmoud Al-Khatib.
