Morotai Island District Health Service Urges Residents to be Aware of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF)

Exclamation mark — The Morotai Island District Health Service, North Maluku, appealed to residents to be aware of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).

Head of the Health Service, dr. Julys Giscard to tandaseru.com stated that the Health Department continues to carry out Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN) activities. This is a step to anticipate a dengue fever outbreak.

It was recorded that in September 2023, 78 people were infected with dengue fever. However, until now Julys said it had experienced a decline.

“Yesterday there was an increase but now it has decreased. At the beginning of yesterday around 78 cases of dengue fever were found in the Ir. Soekarno community health center and hospital,” said Julys, Monday (2/10).

With the presence of dengue fever, efforts have been made to provide circulars to all village heads to work together to eradicate mosquito nests in the village environment.

“Dengue fever outreach activities by community health centers and activities fogging in villages where dengue fever sufferers were found after epidemiological investigations were carried out. “Because this activity to eradicate mosquito nests is the most effective way to tackle dengue fever,” he explained.
