Morocco / Wallonia-Brussels Federation: Collaboration agreement for the generalization of preschool

Morocco and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation on Tuesday signed a collaboration agreement aimed at supporting the generalization of quality preschool in the Kingdom. The collaboration agreement was signed in virtual mode by the Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research Saaid Amzazi and the Minister-President of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation Pierre- Yves Jehole.

As part of the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in education and training, the agreement relates to improving the teaching of languages ​​and cultures, in addition to strengthening skills in Morocco for sustainable co-development, says a joint press release.

In addition, the two ministers discussed ways and methods to intensify collaborations in the areas of initial and continuing training of teachers and preschool supervisory staff, teaching of languages ​​and cultures and improvement of reception conditions for children with specific needs.

On this occasion, Saaid Amzazi welcomed the launch of the joint CAAPPP program (Certificate of Aptitude for Support of Preschool Pedagogical Practices) organized by Belgian schools in Morocco, in partnership with the Department of National Education and the 12 academies. regional education and training and led by a team of experts from the inspectorate of basic education, universities and Belgian French-speaking schools of education.

The generalization of preschool was made a national priority by His Majesty King Mohammed VI. In his message on the occasion of the National Day of Preschool Education, held in Skhirat on July 18, 2018, the Sovereign underlined the importance of preschool education which must be “the pillar on which the new must be built. Moroccan school, insofar as it constitutes the basis of a quality education “, affirmed the Minister.

For his part, Pierre-Yves Jehole recalled that the Wallonia-Brussels Federation has been supporting Morocco since 2000 in the structuring of preschool education, noting that the CAAPPP program, launched in January 2021, is part of the the Action Plan of the 7th Permanent Joint Commission between our two governments.

In addition, the two ministers welcomed the exceptional relations between Morocco and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in the field of higher education and scientific research.

Morocco and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation began their diplomatic relations in 1999, with the opening of the Wallonia-Brussels General Delegation in Rabat, the statement concluded.
