Morocco vs Spain: Win 2-1, La Furia Roja to 2024 Olympic Final

Spanish on to the men’s football final Paris 2024 Olympic Games after hitting Morocco 2-1 in the semi-finals. Left behind at first, La Furia Roja rose up and won.

Playing at the Stade Velodrome, on Monday (5/8), Morocco took the lead in the 37th minute. As Pablo Barrios fouled Amir Richardson in the penalty box, the referee called attention to the spot. Soufiane Rahimi was successful as the executioner going over goalkeeper Arnau Tenas.

Spain rose in the second half. Fermin Lopez completed the score in the 66th minute. He took advantage of a mistake from the Moroccan back line to sweep the ball to win and fired a shot into the right corner of the Moroccan goal, beating goalkeeper Munir El Kajoui.

La Furia Roja then took the lead in the 85th minute. Through an attack from the right, Lopez cleverly sent a pass to Juanlu Sanchez who cut inside the penalty box and finished with a low kick in the left corner to beat El Kajoui.

The score remained 2-1 until the end. Spain have qualified for the final for the second time in a row, and will travel to Paris to fight for their second gold in history and their first in 32 years.

Meanwhile, Morocco will compete for the bronze medal which will be held in Nantes on August 8. the day before the final game.
