Morocco to Provide Humanitarian Aid to Palestinians in Gaza Strip under King Mohammed VI’s Orders

On the orders of King Mohammed VI. Morocco will participate in providing humanitarian aid to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Rabat – The violence between Palestinians and Israelis doesn’t seem to want to end. Depending on the count and source, in the last two weeks and after the attacks from the Gaza Strip and the subsequent military strikes by the Israeli army, there have been around 1,050 Israelis dead and now around 5,200 victims on the Palestinian side.

The Gaza Strip is completely sealed off and Israel temporarily cut off both water and electricity supplies.

The people in the Gaza Strip are therefore urgently dependent on aid supplies, which numerous countries would also like to provide if Egypt and Israel agree to open the border in Rafah.
Individual transports with relief goods have already been able to cross the border.

There is great international concern that the number of victims and the suffering in the Gaza Strip will increase if the Israeli government actually begins the announced so-called ground offensive against Hamas. Behind the scenes, attempts are being made to perhaps dissuade the Israeli government from launching a ground offensive, which also carries the risk of escalation throughout the region.

Morocco wants to contribute aid supplies.

As the Moroccan Foreign Ministry announced yesterday evening, King Mohammed VI, who is also chairman of the Al-Quds Committee (Jerusalem Committee), has ordered that Morocco will also contribute aid to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

This assistance includes significant amounts of food, medical products and water, the ministry said in a press release.

The modalities for sending this emergency aid will be agreed with the Egyptian and Palestinian authorities.

“This High Royal decision is part of the ongoing commitment of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God help him, to the Palestinian cause,” the press release concluded.
