The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the Insurance and Social Security Control Authority (ACAPS), the National Commission for the Control of the Protection of Personal Data (CNDP) and the Moroccan Federation of Insurance (FMA) have jointly signed a quadripartite framework agreement.
Establishing a framework for strengthening coordination and consultation mechanisms between the signatory parties to combat identity fraud and promote the digitalization of insurance services, this agreement aims to provide the services of the national trusted third party, developed by the DGSN, available to insurance companies nationally.
It thus marks an important milestone in the promotion of the security and efficiency of insurance services. Indeed, the use of this system to strengthen authentication procedures by relying on the functionalities of the national electronic identity card will allow the insurance sector to:
- verify the identity of individuals wishing to access insurance services online or in agencies;
- secure operations against the risks of fraud through identity theft and money laundering, while respecting personal data protection standards.
It should be noted that the national trusted third party system, which constitutes a major catalyst in the digitalization process of the insurance sector, is likely to improve citizens’ access to insurance services.
In order to ensure the implementation of this agreement, it is planned to establish a monitoring committee composed of representatives of the four signatory organizations, to ensure close and regular coordination between the stakeholders.
This agreement is part of an approach aimed at ensuring best practices in the protection of personal data, in accordance with the provisions of Law 09-08 relating to the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of data. of a personal nature.
