Morocco ranked 58th internationally in terms of the number of cases of Covid-19 contamination (ministry)

Morocco is now ranked 58th internationally in terms of the number of contaminations, down from 60th place the week before, the health ministry said.

At the level of the African continent, the Kingdom is maintained in 6th place, according to the weekly figures on the international and national level, provided by the ministry.

Regarding the number of deaths, Morocco has advanced 5 places and is found at 61st position this week, internationally and 6th in Africa, said the same source.

As for the number of tests carried out, Morocco is 33rd in the world, 2nd in Africa and 1st in North Africa.



Regarding the geographical distribution of cases of contamination, the ministry notes that three categories of regions. The first is that of the 4 regions that experienced the greatest number of contaminations between August 3 and 9, with more than 30 cases for every 100,000 inhabitants. These are the regions of Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, Fès-Meknes, Marrakech-Safi and Casablanca-Settat.

The second category of regions is that which has recorded an “average epidemiological activity”, ie between 10 and 20 cases for every 100,000 inhabitants. These are the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, Draâ-Tafilalet and Dakhla-Oued Dahab.

The third category of less than 10 cases for every 100,000 inhabitants concerns the regions of Oriental, Beni Mellal-Khenifra, Souss-Massa, Guelmim-Oued Noun and Laâyoun-Sakia El Hamra.
