A huge election defeat for the ruling party PJD in Morocco. With almost all votes counted, the number of seats seems decimated. The moderate Islamist party, which was the largest for ten years, will go from 125 to 12 seats.
The liberal Justice and Development Party (RNI) convincingly takes the win. The party appears to have reached 97 seats, which is an increase of sixty seats.
Another liberal rival, the Party of Authenticity and Modernity, and the center-right Islamist Istiqlal Party also benefited from the major loss of the Justice and Development Party (PJD).
The provisional results were announced last night by the Moroccan Minister of the Interior.
