Morocco brings together Sahel countries in New York

The royal initiative to facilitate access to Sahel countries, launched on November 6, 2023, is ongoing. On the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, New York held, last night, a round table meeting of this royal project, celebrating Moroccan diplomacy.

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Morocco, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger and Chad “welcomed, in a joint press release, the work done by the National Action Groups” of the five States, from the “1st meeting of the National Action Groups, held in Rabat last June.

The ministers “examined the projects proposed by Morocco as part of this International Initiative, which are in line with the national development plans currently being implemented in each country,” specifies the same source.

Foreign Ministers agreed to meet soon as part of the ongoing work of the round table of the royal campaign, which was launched on November 6, 2023.

As a reminder, five Morocco Sahel partner countries participated in an economic forum organized in Dakhla in July.
