The Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Abdellatif Mirawi, stated that out of a total of 23,411 foreign students enrolled in Morocco in 2021, there are 19,256 of African origin, or about 83 percent.
Miraoui said at the “Morocco Diplomatic-Sahara” forum, on Saturday, March 4 in Dakhla, that this continuous increase in the total number of African students in Moroccan universities and higher education institutions indicates the Kingdom’s active involvement in the interest of strengthening cooperation relations with partners on the continent, within the framework of dynamic programs. He pointed out that the partnership between Moroccan universities and their African counterparts has been further strengthened in the field of training two components, in addition to joint research and development projects covering priority sectors.
The minister highlighted that Morocco has made strengthening its cooperation with its African partners a priority, and that Africa is full of many opportunities, as important measures should be taken regarding prioritizing public policies directed at education, training and scientific research.
