Moroccan craftsmanship for the first time at “Salone Del Mobile Milano”

The Maison de l’Artisan is taking part in the prestigious “Salone Del Mobile Milano 2023”, which is being held from April 18 to 23, 2023 in Milan, announced the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy.

“This is the first time that Moroccan craftsmanship has taken part in this prestigious fair, considered the most important event in the world of furniture and design. A participation that reinforces the sustained momentum recorded by Moroccan handicraft products on foreign markets,” the ministry said in a statement.

Accompanied by the ministry and the Maison de l’Artisan, seventeen Moroccan companies, renowned for the originality and authenticity of their creations, will wear the colors of Morocco in Milan, the world capital of design, the statement said, noting Moroccan master craftsmen and designers will exhibit their products and know-how collectively in a pavilion of nearly 200 m2, designated by the famous designer Hicham Lahlou who also curates Moroccan participation in this edition.

This modern pavilion, but resolutely anchored in the architectural traditions of Morocco, was specially fitted out by the architect Mohammed Benadiba to sublimate the “Morocco Handmade” creations while highlighting each brand.

These are “Aït Manos” and Amine Asselman (art of zellije), Atelier Landon” (furniture and lighting), “Atelier Zelij” (zellije, cement tiles and stones), “MAD in bled” (decoration and interior design), “JB DESIGN” (Interior design and architecture), “Jonathan Amar Studio” (Design lighting and objects), “Lalla de Moulati” (tableware), “Mirage Home” (decoration and furniture hand), “Noun Design” (decoration and furniture), “Soufiane Zarib” (carpet), Tribaliste (Carpet), “Soumiya Jalal Studio” (weaving and textile design), “Callitris” (floor lamps and designer furniture), “Réda Bouamrani Creation” (design and interior architecture), “Studio Lid” (carpets) and “Asly creation” (dinanderie).

For six days, the Moroccan delegation will also increase meetings with planning and housing professionals, manufacturers, interior designers, journalists and design professionals from all over the world present in Milan for this 61st edition of the “Salon Del Mobile Milano”.

The event will be held at the Milan Exhibition Center, over more than 210,000m2 and will see the participation of 1,967 exhibitors who will meet the 300,000 visitors expected for this edition.

And to specify that the Pavilion of Moroccan Craftsmanship is to be found in “Hall 22 Stand C24-C26” – Rho Fiera Milano exhibition center.
