“Mørkredd” named the game of the year – NRK Kultur og underholdning

This year’s fully digital edition of The game price, which is the computer games’ answer to the Amanda Prize, gathered the Norwegian gaming industry on Thursday night.

Tonight’s big winners were “Mørkredd”, which was named the best Norwegian game of the year, and “Hellheim Hassle” which won in four of seven categories.

– It is a big surprise and very cool to win. The team has worked very hard with “Mørkredd” for many years, so we are very happy that you can get some recognition for this as well, says game developer Are Sundnes in Hyper Games.

The game prize is an annual award focusing on Norwegian games. Seven prizes will be awarded and chosen by a professional jury consisting of people from the gaming industry and Norwegian gaming media. The award ceremony is part of the event The cavalcade, which is the gaming industry’s big party day organized by the Norwegian Film Institute, Virke and Nordic Game.

The Game Prize itself is the only game prize award in Norway after the more industry-oriented Gold engraving was closed down in 2015 after a lot of disagreements.
