Morita: «Since I came to Portugal I wanted to play for Sporting» – Sporting

Official. Hidemasa Morita, 27 years old, signed a contract until June 2026. The player arrives at Alvalade from Santa Clara and has a release clause of 45 million euros, showing himself very satisfied with this important step in his career.

“Since I came to Portugal I wanted to play for Sporting. It’s a very big and fantastic club. I’m very happy”, he said in statements to the club’s website. “Without a doubt, this is the biggest challenge of my entire career. I’m very happy to be able to join this club”, he continued, adding that “he always had the dream of playing in the Champions League”.

The Japanese international (16 occasions and two goals) praised Rúben Amorim: “He is intelligent and has built an aggressive team. I feel comfortable with that and I really want to work with him.”

As for the position where he prefers to play, he said: I feel very good at both six and eight, I have enough confidence to occupy both positions”.

The midfielder left the promise that he will give the most with the leonine jersey. “Sporting fans are fantastic, I can’t wait to play with them in the stands. I’ll do my best”, he assured.
