An absolute rarity for generalist TV, a foreign series, moreover French, which airs in prime time on Rai 1, achieves decent ratings and is revived with the new seasons. Maybe it’s a fire that is slowly going out, but the comparisons between the fiction of our country are interesting – the yellow-pink ones with female protagonists, above all – and this Morgane – Brilliant Detectivethird season just arrived on Rai 1.
In France it (was) a television miracle, ten million viewers and the protagonist, Audrey Fleurot who becomes an absolute celebrity. She is there Morgan of the title, a bizarre example of an ordinary girl with a banal job. But it’s because she can’t curb her impulses in her life, she has three children from two different men, she manages them alone and they cut off the electricity in her house due to unpaid bills. And yet she has an IQ of 160 (in the original the series is called HPIacronym of High intellectual potential) a monstrous photographic memory and a corresponding intuition. She thus finds herself a consultant to the police in Lille, but since she is mad as hell, she Morgane sets up one trouble after another.
The third season resumes with her outside the police itself and the refractory inspector fulfilling both of their dreams of love (he’s crazy too). But everything is in full evolution. None of this would work if the protagonist wasn’t an irresistible pocket-sized Jessica Rabbit — but not too much — with an overwhelming physicality in every scene. The authors, who are mostly women, allow themselves, and this time even more, graphic and dreamlike digressions in the often farcical, constantly increasing plot.
In France it lost spectators, but we are still at seven million instead of ten. Maybe it’s time to go back to the origins which above all tasted like freshness and notable fun, without making too many demands. The plots surrounding the crimes are not bad.

The third season is very recent. But when Morgane launches into a comparison between Italy and France with the ensuing rivalry, two characters appear side by side on the screen: Sarkozy e Berlusconi. The French are nostalgic for the good times.
