Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Morgan Stanley & Co International Plc. (MSIP) announced that it has sold part of its stake in the Alfamart retail management company, PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (AMRT).
AMRT Director and Corporate Secretary, Tomin Widian said that MSIP, representing his client, had sold AMRT shares on June 11, 2021 at a selling price of Rp 1,103.35 per share.
The number of shares sold was 294,884,400 or 294.88 million shares. Thus, the total share sale transaction reached Rp 325.31 billion.
“The purpose of the transaction is divestment with direct share ownership status,” said Tomin Widian, in an explanation to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), quoted Monday (21/6/2021).
After this transaction, Morgan Stanley’s share ownership in Alfamart was reduced to 3.24 billion shares or 7.81 percent from the previous 3.44 billion shares or 8.52% ownership.
Previously, on June 18, 2021, Morgan Stanley also switched 3.2 billion shares between securities and sold 2.50 million shares.
The transaction was carried out on June 9, 2021 for the purpose of direct investment.
Thus, after the transaction, Morgan Stanley’s shareholding increased to 3.62 billion shares or 8.73% from the previous 429 million shares, equivalent to 1.03% share ownership in AMRT.
