Moreno denounced that Clarín’s lawyer was a member of Triple A

After a judge (perhaps frightened by some shelving) condemned Guillermo Moreno (former Internal Trade official), for wearing boxing gloves to a Newspaper Assembly (whose owners are Clarin and La Nazión), said that the lawyer who represented the Grupo Clarín in the trial, Soaje Pinto: “He was a former member of the Triple A (Argentine Anticommunist Alliance)”. After the two-year prison sentence that the Justice ruled against the former Secretary of Domestic Trade was known William Moreno, the justicialista leader commented how he would enter the prison.

Moreno insisted that “the Justice gave him the reason in the matter of Newsprint”. He also charged again against the lawyer who represented Grupo Clarín in the trial, Soaje Pinto: “He was a former member of the Triple A (Argentine Anticommunist Alliance)”.

On the other hand, he explained that the court ruling is due to the political ideas he has against Grupo Clarín. He further confirmed that he will appeal the court’s decision, even if the two-year sentence is releaseable.

What did the court decide?

On Wednesday, the former Secretary of Commerce, Guillermo Moreno, was sentenced to two years in prison and six months of Disqualification from holding public office for having threatened the board of directors of Papel Prensa.

Moreno broke into an assembly of Papel Prensa in 2010, while he was working at the Secretary of Commerce and represented the actions of the State, wearing boxing gloves and shouting: “Helmet or gloves? I have a helmet and I have gloves. What do they want? There is a choice of helmet or gloves because the judge said that we have to behave well”.

Thus, the Federal Oral Court No. 8 sentenced to two years in prison and the disqualification to hold public office to the former Secretary of Commerce for having committed a “Disruption to the exercise of public functions” and having made threats against company directors.
