The regional coordinator of federal government programs, Elizabeth Guzmán Argueta, reported yesterday that a shipment of anti-Covid vaccines arrived in the city of Chihuahua to be sent to Ciudad Juárez for the application of the booster, or third dose. She emphasized that they are only waiting to define which age group(s) will be the beneficiaries to announce the schedule during the course of the week.
“We are in Chihuahua, just in that. Only that it is confirmed of what ages they authorized us and we already confirmed them, ”expressed the public servant.
He previously pointed out that among the contemplations is organizing two campaigns: one for those between 30 and 39 years old and another for those between 18 and 29, but it is also intended –depending on the biological available– to make only one day that includes the people from 18 to 39 years old.
Third applications have been facilitated in the locality, to increase antibodies against the virus, among public and private “health heroes”. Their turn was from January 6 and 7 of this 2022. Then, those of “60 years and over” followed, from 10 to 14, and finally they advanced with those of 40 to 59, from January 31 to February 9. Among the doses applied are several from Moderna, but the most used are AstraZeneca.
Without medical contraindications, these formulas have been supplied in such groups regardless of the fact that some had a previous Pfizer CanSino or Johnson & Johnson scheme. In this sense, Guzmán Argueta reminded the public that it is an injection whose objective is to increase the body’s defenses against SARS-CoV-2, since over time these begin to decrease.
He recalled that those seeking access to the antiviral must enter their Unique Population Registry Key (CURP) in the section available on the Mi Vacuna website: https://mivacuna.salud.gob.mx/index.php, where it is “I am 18 years of age or older and request the vaccination booster.” When they do so, they will be provided with the immunization form that they must take printed and pre-filled to the buildings that will be enabled.
